QuAIT / Quantum

Quantum applications, built for the hardware that exists.

We are not waiting for fault-tolerant machines. QuAIT builds hybrid classical–quantum applications that run on today's devices and simulators — and positions for what the next generation of hardware unlocks.

Status

Quantum realm unlocking soon

The quantum programme is in early development and we are not going to describe it before it is real. What we can say now: it is aimed at applications that run on hardware that exists, not on a machine somebody promises in ten years.

Researchers, hardware teams and early partners: the door opens early for you.

Why one company does both

The honest answer, not the buzzword one.

AI and quantum computing share a foundation: both are about extracting answers from spaces too large to search directly. The mathematics overlap, the engineering discipline overlaps, and increasingly the workloads overlap — quantum-inspired algorithms already improve classical machine learning, and machine learning already improves quantum error mitigation.

Practically: our AI business ships products today; our quantum work is a longer horizon. One funds and grounds the other. We would rather state that plainly than pretend both are at the same stage.

What you are looking at

The field behind this page is not an illustration of quantum mechanics. It is running it. Here is the physics on screen.

Colour charge

Quarks carry one of three charges — red, green, blue — and the strong force acts on that charge the way electromagnetism acts on electric charge. The coloured points drifting behind this page are quarks; the rings mark antiquarks.

Confinement

The strong potential is linear, V(r) = σr, so the restoring force between two quarks stays constant no matter how far apart they drift. Distance never weakens it. That is why an isolated quark has never been observed.

String breaking

Pull the flux tube far enough and it stores more energy than it costs to create matter. So it does not release the quarks — it snaps in two and a fresh quark-antiquark pair condenses at the break. Every flash on this page is a pair being born.

The motes between them are doing Brownian motion under Langevin dynamics — random momentum kicks against drag — and colliding elastically. Move your cursor through the field and you will heat it.
